Paris City of LOVE and Romance
In Eighteenth Century, Paris was going through a dark and rough patch. The city was divided into rich and poor, luxury and hunger, ruthlessness and helplessness, art and slavery. Women were traded in the open. Children and men were turned forcibly into slaves. Sickness and poverty spreading everywhere. Widows get raped and turned into sex workers while their little children were either found near the garbage in search of food or found dead in dumpster. On one hand where life was tormented and inhumane then on the other side where rich people of the society enjoying their expensive dresses and discusses art and methods to make more money.

Alexandre, who belonged from a very royal family had left his home five years ago and wandered one place to another. Alexandre, when young took painting as a hobby but soon realized that there is nothing else he could ever do except paint. He painted everything, from streets to palaces, cities to oceans, portraits to landscape. Initially he even paid women to paint them but sooner he realized that if he really wants to find the ultimate beauty, he had to walk away from all the luxuries and comfort. So he left his palace and went out in search of an eternal beauty whom he could paint.

It was tough as he anticipated. He walked for weeks without shelter over his head and food to eat. He relied heavily on the leftovers of rich people and satisfied his hunger. In first few years, he found nothing in those stinking streets except hunger, death, and helplessness. Beauty which he seeks appeared as if she cannot be existed in this filthy and rotten life.

Alexandre, after two years, made a little shack from the old rotten wooden planks and metal sheets. He used to paint the lives on the streets and sell them on streets. But it was not he wanted. So it made him more restless and aggressive. Whatever he used to earn, he spend it on alcohol and prostitute. He started spending more of his time in brothel and spends numerous hours in interacting with those women over there. Alexandre was always a charmer, girls go crazy with his heavy voice and dark blue eyes. His clothes were old but still royal in nature. His story influenced women and brings them on their knees.

Romance is in the air
It was only after fourth year, Alexandre decided to paint the portraits of women based on his imagination. He wanted to come closer to the dream which led him to leave all his past life and brought here. He never regretted it but it's something that he thought he must do now.

A year and half passed and his paintings started to become talk of the town. He spends hours and weeks on his paintings and the end result was a discovery of a woman who was beautiful than anyone ever seen. The women in his paintings looked miraculously beautiful and goddess of temptation. He started making good money out of it but money was something which never attracted him. He didn't changed his shack or buy new clothes instead he preferred spending his money on more alcohol and beautiful prostitutes.

Just like any other day, Alexandre finished his day of work and went to get some more alcohol. His attention get drifted to the noise coming from the other side of the street. He went to gave a look at it. A man in the centre was giving his pitch to attract customers who could buy one of his newly brought girls. Alexandre stood there and kept drinking while the pimp showcased his girls one by one. At last, a girl came who was wearing torn clothes, and most of her skin was visible. She was silent as had never spoken a word. She had bruises all over her arms, legs and back. But it was Alexandre who was stunned to see her. He knew her. He didn't took away his eyes from her. She looked like an angel. A kind of beauty which not meant to be understood by the minds or hearts of ordinary men. Alexandre recognised her and made the highest bid to buy her.

He took her home and provided her clothes and food, shelter and security, respect and kindness. Alexandre gave her a new name, Ellayne. Weeks passed and she still hadn't spoken a word. And even Alexandre never forced her to say anything. It was the silence that doing all the magic and wonders in that little shack.

When couple of months had passed, Ellayne understood his nature of work and was more than just humble and grateful for everything that Alexandre had did for her. One evening when he came back from selling his paintings, she was cooking for him. He sat quietly and kept looking at her. Ellayne finally spoken, she asked why did he bought her? Alexandre explained her that he knows her and if he had to sell himself that day to get her, he would have done it without any hesitation. But Ellayne said that's not possible, she saw him first time at that street. Then Alexandre got up and brought one of his old painting and Ellayne was stunned in silence to seeing. It was her on the canvas which Alexandre had painted a year ago. He told her that all of his paintings got sold till date except this one. So he kept it for himself. Alexandre knew he had discovered the beauty he came looking for but the question was now where this beauty will take him.

In coming months, they both become inseparable. He painted and she started selling those paintings. He became a very popular painter and people from the highest class considers an honor to have his paintings at their palaces.

Months and years passed. And after two years of their r err relationship, they had everything. Fortune, fame, respect and love. But slowly and slowly Alexandre paintings started to become less popular and buyers started avoiding him. For months he did touched a brush. He kept himself lock in the room and kept staring at the canvas but couldn't paint. Months and year passed but he did not painted.

Ellayne finally asked him for his sudden setback and he told her that there's no beauty left. As he kept painting in search of a beauty and now since he found it in her, there's nothing left to paint. Weeks had passed and with every passing day, Alexandre was becoming more sad and restless, as he wanted to paint but he couldn't. He often screams at night from his locked room and Ellayne could do nothing except crying and blaming herself.

One morning when Alexandre came out from his room to his bedroom he saw Ellayne lying on the floor dead. He kept screaming and crying but she was gone. She left her a letter... Which said,

Dear Alexandre

I am no beauty without you. I am no miracle without you. I am no charm without you. You found me, way before even I found myself. You gave me reasons to believe in miracle and love. You touched me in a way, that I became pure. And your love was enough for me to keep me alive for centuries.

But seeing you like this is beyond imagination and filled my heart with guilt and suffering. You gave me everything and I gave you emptiness. My beauty took away the colors from your life and I can't tolerate that. I belonged in dirt and it was your colors who found me and how can I let my own beauty take that colors. So, I have to go away forever.

I knew you found the beauty but now it's time to find out -- the life.

It was an honor to love you, know you, touch you.

Goodbye
Ellayne.

Alexandre never painted again anything except Ellayne and it's said he painted thousands of paintings of her and made his last painting of Ellayne with himself meeting in a street again.

This was the story of love that defined Paris.
