The India Gate, New Delhi

INDIA GATE History-
This is one of the most popular place of Delhi which is also widely known as All India War Memorial. The India Gate is dedicated to the Indian Army who died during 1st world war and the 3rd Anglo Afghan war.  This is the pride of the Indian Army who are devoted their life to save our country India.


Situated at the at the end of Rajpath, the India Gate is 42 meters high and is a popular as a relaxation area during the summer evenings and a popular picnic spot during winter.


 Initially called All India War Memorial, the gate was designed and built by Lutyens who is also credited with the designing of New Delhi, the capital of India.
Hotels of India arrange travel to India Gate. The names of all the soldiers who died during the World War I are inscribed on the walls of the Gate. Amar Jawan Jyoti, an eternal flame, burns 24 hours. This was lit to pay home to the soldiers who were killed during the Indo-Pak war in 1971.
